the farther your shot.
WARMING UP THE COURT…
Five questions. Twenty-four seconds each. A different way to flex your basketball knowledge.
Start a question to reveal it and start the 24-second shot clock. Type a name, then press Enter or Shoot.
Every correct answer is a made basket. More obscure answers earn longer shots and more points.
Your first valid answer is final. Wrong answer? Try again while the clock is running. Time expires? Zero points.
Finish all five for a score out of 500. Share without spoilers and keep your daily streak going.
Approved nicknames work. Capitalization, accents, spacing and punctuation don’t matter. Refreshing won’t reset a live clock or change an accepted answer.
We curate a list for each exact question, using Wikipedia and Basketball-Reference alongside relevant basketball records and other reference sources. Our approach is to combine sources, check eligibility, and merge alternate names into one answer. AI can help research and organize a draft; it does not decide whether your live guess is valid.
There is no fixed maximum number of answers. Our question-design standard is at least 35 valid options, with the size of the answer pool considered alongside clarity, variety, and how reliably we can check it. A big list is welcome when the question still has clear boundaries. The current sample edition is being updated to this standard.
The connection matters. A famous player can be a surprising answer to a question about a brief team stint. We review evidence specific to the question, such as seasons or games together, alongside editorial judgment for dedicated basketball fans. A player does not have one universal rarity score.
We are developing these as supporting research signals. General player-page traffic measures exposure, not how well people remember a particular connection. Relevant articles and videos can add context. These data feeds are not connected yet, and the sample scores are curated rather than calibrated from view counts.

No. Each answer has a fixed tier before a puzzle is published. The same answer to the same question earns the same points all day. Other players’ guesses never change its value.
One answer per question is handpicked for 100 points. It can be obscure, clever, or especially satisfying to remember. It does not have to be the least-known answer on the list.
It may fall outside the exact wording, use an unrecognized spelling, or be missing from our curated list. Lists can have omissions. When you press Enter or Shoot, a small typo is corrected if it clearly identifies one player. Ambiguous spellings need a clearer name. Approved nicknames and alternate spellings count as the same answer; capitalization, accents, spacing, and punctuation are normalized. We do not ask AI to improvise a ruling during play.
You can retry an invalid guess while time remains. Your first valid answer locks in, stops the clock, and always makes the basket. If the 24 seconds run out first, it is an Airball worth zero points.
